All Photography Tuition is 1:1 or for up to 3 people. Courses can therefore be tailored precisely to your aims and interests or you can go on one of the courses suggested below. There are two categories of course: Beginners and Advanced. Beginners Course This is suitable for newcomers to photography and those wanting to progress from using the camera on the Auto setting. The tuition will go at your pace under the guidance of a patient, helpful photographer. Aim At the end of a day's tuition you should have a good understanding of your camera and the ability and confidence to make adjustments to your camera settings as required. A Typical Day Meet up in Hay-on-Wye or at your accommodation if it's easier for you. Short drive to a view point overlooking the Wye Valley. 15 minute, easy to understand, easy to remember theory session. Take pictures, lots of pictures! We'll visit many glorious locations with stunning views of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. For lunch we'll stop at a good old fashioned country pub or visit an historic cellar bar with its 12th century vaulted ceiling. After lunch we'll look at close up photography and capture more breathtaking views. If you don't mind a bit of walking we can visit a waterfall in a beautiful remote valley. Lastly, if we have time we can review the photos on a laptop. Note on Walking Apart from the waterfall, which is a 1/2 mile easy walk from the car, this trip involves very little walking. Advanced Course This is suitable for anyone with a good knowledge of photography. Whether it's brushing up on a specific area of photography, like white balance, or pursuing a particular interest such as wildlife, Photography Tuition has the course for you. The Aim To produce professional quality photographs. Wildlife Gigrin Farm Red Kite Feeding Centre. Probably the best views of Red Kites anywhere in Britain. Up to 400 Kites feed every day of the year. Usually a few buzzards too. Small Breeds Farm. Great opportunity to get close to a wide variety of animals and one of the largest collections of owls in the country. Waterfalls It's not called 'Waterfall Country' for nothing! Spend the day visiting numerous varied and stunning waterfalls. Be prepared to walk. Landscapes Everywhere! The Brecon Beacons are renowned for their wide variety of stunning scenery and amazing views. Courses for Beginners and Advanced Wildlife, landscapes, rivers, reservoirs and waterfalls all in one day! Visit the fantastic scenery of the Elan Valley with its massive dams, rivers, mountains and waterfalls and still have time for the Red Kite feeding spectacle.

Hay, the town of over 30 book shops, is a wonderful, quirky place that comes alive during the festival - you may even spot a celebrity!
